課程概述

地理資訊科學（GISc）在社會面的發展包括兩個面向，一是以空間分析方法為主的人文社會課題應用研究，例如：疾病、犯罪、歷史等；另外一個面向是基植於菁英地理資訊系統（elite GIS）的反思所引發的研究課題，包括：公眾參與地理資訊系統（PPGIS）、自發性地理資訊（volunteered geographic information, VGI）等，近年更有地理公民科學（Geo-Citizen Science）、地理群眾外包（Geo-Crowdsourcing）名詞的出現與發展。
本課程將以地理公民科學為主題，探討其意涵、發展及其與社會化GIS及公眾參與之間的關係。 

課程目標
 瞭解公民科學、地理資訊科學、公眾參與、自發性地理資訊與公眾參與地理資訊系統的意涵及其間的相互關係 
課程要求
 1. 曾修習GIS概論相關課程
2. 熟悉GIS及社會面應用
3. 論文研究方向為地理資訊科學範疇
4. 願意投入較多時間閱讀、思考與討論
